Text: Gen 2:20-24
I. WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THE PRIORITY OF CHRIST IN OUR RELATIONSHIPS
A. God has given us His plan for successful relationships
B. Every person and every relationship needs Christ.
John 6:35, Matt 11:28-30
C. Don’t look in all the wrong places for what only Christ can fulfill.
II. WE NEED TO ESTABLISH GOD’S PRIORITY IN
RELATIONSHIPS
A. Leaving and Cleaving, the Law of Priority.
B. Protecting your priorities.
The Bible describes God as a jealous God when other priorities take first place in our lives. Ex 34:14,
James 4: 4-5
Three things to do to establish correct priorities:
1. List the most important priorities in your life in order of the most importance.
2. Prove those priorities in real ways and in everyday life.
3. Prepare to protect those priorities for the rest of your life.
Conclusion: Throughout scripture God has established the importance of our relationship with Him, spouses, children, family and church family. Let’s do all we can to prioritize these relationships.
