My New Life Of Grace & Generocity July 25, 2009
Text: 2 Cor. 8: 1-9 NIV
I. GIVE BACK WHAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED
A. When I am generous it helps to remind me of the grace that I received. 1 Tim 1:14 "The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus."
B. God gave first, now it is my turn to give.
C. When I do NOT grace people with generosity I diminish the Cross of Christ and the grace that saved me.
D. When I grace people with generosity I place value on them. "We are most like God when we're giving. Gaze upon Christ long enough and you'll become more of a giver. Give long enough, and you'll become more like Christ."
II. EXCELL IN THE GRACE OF GIVING
A. My giving is a reflection of my gratitude for Christ's sacrifice.
B. My giving is a true reflection of the sincerity of my faith.
C. My giving is a reflection of the depth of my experience of God’s love. Our giving habits reveal IF the substance of our faith has penetrated the grip of materialism that seeks to keep our hearts in bondage.
Conclusion:
ARE YOU GRACIOUS? Has the grace of God that forgave you and saved you been returned to others in the form of grace and generosity?

My New Life of Faith for the Future - July 19, 2009
Text: 1 Peter 1: 3-9
I. FAITH SAVES ME
(2) "…who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, … for obedience to Jesus Christ."
Eph 2:8-10
Gal 5:6 “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."
The Apostle Paul had this attitude: 2 Cor 12:15 “And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls.” NKJV
II. FAITH SHEILDS ME FROM MY ADVERSARY
(5) "…who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation."
A. You must recognize the evil forces that want to steal, kill and destroy.
Jesus illustrates this in several parables: Matt 13:3-4, 19, 31-32; 17:20
B. You must resist these evil forces. It is your faith that is under attack; it is your faith that needs to be fed and nurtured; it is your faith that sustains you in life’s battles.
Jude 20-21, 1 Peter 5:8-9, Eph 6:16
III. FAITH SUSTAINS ME THROUGH DARK VALLEYS
(6) "In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials."
A. Valleys are inevitable
B. Valleys are impartial
C. Valleys are purposeful
What do you do when you go through dark valleys?
Psalm 23:4"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
Refuse to live in fear.
Remember that God is with you.
Rely on God’s protection and guidance.
CONCLUSION: Do you have a faith in Christ Jesus that SAVES, SHIELDS & SUSTAINS you? If not, today you can have faith for the future.

My New Missional Life - June 7, 2009
Text: Acts 5:20 "Go, stand in the temple courts," he said, "and tell the people the full message of this new life."
Acts 11: 19-26
There are three very important parts of the Missional life.
1. UP
A. We look UP to abide in God- John 15:4
B. We look UP to connect with God
C. We look UP to capture the heart of God -John 5:19
The missional Church is an expression of God’s heart.
The missional Church is Redemptive and joins God in His redemptive mission in the world.
The missional Church is a Church that is shaped by participating in God’s mission, which is to set things right in a broken, sinful world, to redeem it and to restore it to what God has always intended for the world.
2. IN
A. We come IN to encourage one another
B. We come IN to challenge one another -Heb 10:24-25
C. We come IN to share life together
3. OUT
A. We go OUT to fulfill our missional calling- Matt 5:13-16
B. We live OUT our missional calling in everyday life
* You are the aroma of Jesus in the cemetery of decaying flesh. We are different in the hope we offer, in the grace we exhibit and in the obvious sacrifice of love we display in the dealing with others in everyday life.
- It is a life of blessing others. Genesis 12:2,3
C. We go OUT to share the full message of this New Life that we have in Christ - John 3:16-19
We are in competition with the kingdom of darkness that steals life from people.
CONCLUSION: My new missional life is a life of looking UP, coming IN and going OUT. Let’s join God in His mission of redeeming lost and hurting people back to the Father.

Rom 3:21-25 “But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. 1. Pursue Jesus – not happiness.
John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”
John 15:11“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”
Rom 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
2. You can have joy today – not someday.
3. I can live in joy today – not fear, worry & anxiety.
Matt 6:25-34
4. My new life of joy will bless others.
Rom 12:9-21
5. My new life of joy will help me to be more grateful.
6. My new life of joy will bless God’s Kingdom.
CONCLUSION: Do you have an outrageous, contagious joy that only comes from God? You can today through Jesus.
