A SECOND CHANCE

Text: Judges 16: 21-31
I. GOD HAS NOT GIVEN UP ON YOU
(22) “But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.”
A. He’s the God of a second chance.
Matt 9:12-13 Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
II. YOU CAN OVERCOME, YOU CAN BE VICTORIOUS
A. It all begins with crying out to God.
(28) “Then Samson prayed to the Lord, "O Sovereign Lord, remember me. O God, please strengthen me just once more..."
Neh. 5:19, Ps 25:7, Ps 106:4, Luke 23:42
B. We must have the courage to face our failures.
Luke 15:17-20
C. When we cry out to God, it is then we find the grace to overcome.
2 Sam 14:14 "God does not take away life; instead, he devises ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged from him."
Rom 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
Rom 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Col. 1:15-22--- God’s plan of reconciliation
CONCLUSION: You may be in a prison today, head shaved and ashamed of your actions. But God has devised a plan so you do not have to be estranged from Him for another minute. Right now you can come to this altar and cry out “REMEMBER ME”.
